Collecting Files for Final Output - Basics

Make sure to include all images and fonts used in your document. “Collect for Output” will do this if you have this feature in Quark. Check “Picture Usage” to be sure you have included all images.
Put your company’s name on your floppy, Zip, Jaz, Syquest, etc. and make sure the files you want to send us are on the disk (yes, we have gotten blank disks). It’s a good idea to have designated “Travel Disks” to use for your output service, and include only the files needed for output.
Always send hard copy along with your final file which should be printed from the “travel disk” (not your hard drive) along with electronic file so we have something to check against, along with a completed order form.
Be sure that all images placed in your Quark document are linked and updated to the images you supply on your disk, not from your hard drive. A good way to check is to output your file from a different Mac.
Keep your job organized; all fonts in one folder and your Quark document with your elements in another folder. Do not include extraneous files with your job.

And remember: What prints to a laser printer will not necessarily print out on a high end imagesetter. And to quote Frank Romano: "What-You-See-Is-More-Or-Less-What-You-Get” or "WYSIMOLWYG"
